Harley Dee Bresee

Harley Dee Bresee, age 90, resident of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at his daughter’s residence.

Mr. Bresee, son of the late Harold Ned Bresee and Vida Julia Nelson Bresee, was born December 9, 1934 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was a retired minister for the Seventh Day Adventist Church where he faithfully pastored for over 42 years. For the past few years, he has been an active member of Hamilton Community Church. Mr. Bresee also hosted weekly bible studies in the local area. He spoke fluent Arabic, and shared his faith to many.

Mr. Bresee enjoyed studying archaeology, camping, woodworking, and photography. While at home, many would see him reading, playing the harmonica or guitar, and listening to Gaither music. Most of all, he looked forward to spending quality time with his family. The family remembers him as a man who loved sharing his faith, promoting the gospel, and spending time with people.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashlea Atherton.
Mr. Bresee is survived by four children, Chere (Steve) Atherton of Ringgold, Georgia, Deborah (Tom) Gibbens of Gentry, Arkansas, Mikki (Kiff) Newkirk of Ringgold, Georgia, and Mark (Sharon) Bresee of Cleveland, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Andrew Bresee, Alicia Shaver, Brent Wiseman, Chase Wiseman, Michelle Netzel, Benjamin Edwards, and Lance Newkirk; seven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Sabbath afternoon, January 25, 2025, 4 p.m. at Hamilton Community Church.
