Harold White Hensley, age 87, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024. He was born in Trion, Georgia to the late Walter Abraham and Bertha Lucille White Hensley. He had worked in textile mills most of his life, E.T. Barwick, Sweetwater Carpet and Synthetic Industries where he retired after more than twenty years of service. Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, farming and working on any kind of motors. He was a longtime member of Woodman of the World and the former Friendship Baptist Church. He loved reading and studying the history of the Civil War and World War II. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Barbara Lowe, brother: James Robert Hensley and daughter-in-law: Belva Gay Rhodes Hensley. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years: Mrs. Frances Louise Spence Hensley of LaFayette, GA, their sons: Harold Martin (Gwen) Hensley of Berea, KY, Walt Andrew (Shannon Isbill) Hensley of Chickamauga, GA, sister: Jo Hensley of LaFayette, GA, grandchildren: Charlsa Anne Hensley, Tracie Wiggley, Kaitie Kuykendall, Jared and Elise Glenfield, great-grandchildren: Tomas Harden, Grace Neal, Kade, Korbin and Koulter Kuykendall, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm – Saturday – November 2, 2024 in the chapel with Kenneth Wilbanks officiating. Burial will be in LaFayette Cemetery.
