Heartsell Clayton Porter – Discover Walker

Heartsell Clayton Porter, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Heartsell, son of the late James C. Porter, Sr and Esther Johnston Porter Morrison, was born July 6, 1938. He graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School, class of 1956. An Army veteran, serving in both Korea and at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He later began working at Tennessee American Water Company, where he faithfully worked for over 36 years. Heartsell was of the Christian faith.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Arlene Caris, Alice Morgan, Clara Huskey, Willie Mae Heesh, J.C. Porter, and Bill Porter.
Heartsell was a brother/uncle to Jim Morgan, Janice Morgan Massey Middlebrooks, Mike Morgan and Barbara Morgan Cross. He had a big part of taking care of them growing up and they took care of him and his wife for the past six years. Heartsell is survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 11 a.m.
