James Franklin Burrows

James Franklin Burrows, age 82, of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 30, 2026.
He was born in Chickamauga to the late James Anthony Burrows and Lena Mae Wilson Burrows. A lifelong resident of Chickamauga, James was a man of strong faith and a member of the Baptist community.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 50 years to the construction industry, retiring in 2025. He was an active member of VFW Post 3679 and served as former President of both the Southeastern Tennessee Actioner Association and the Northwest Georgia Actioner Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Sheivelhud.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Carolyn Diane Burrows; stepchildren, Wendell (April) Terrell and Carlton Terrell; siblings, Micky Burrows, Billy Burrows, Laura Thorn, Mary Hawkins, and Lois Cagle; grandchildren, Deseray Conley and Jay (Olivia) Terrell; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Walker; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026, in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home – J. Avery Bryan Chapel, Chickamauga, with Bro. Sam Barrett and Bro. Ed Hise officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, and prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
