James Michael Carmon, age 67 of LaFayette, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He was born in Fort Oglethorpe to the late Jimmie Lee Carmon and Billie Jean Clark Carmon, retired from Hillsborough Traffic Engineering after 26 years of employment, and was of the Christian Faith. James served his country in the U.S. Army and was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be greatly missed. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Carol Carmon; sister, Cheryl “Sheri” Stoker. Those left to cherish his memory are his children; John Paul Carmon, Rachel Michelle (Brandon) Alexander, and Ruth Carmon; stepchildren, Rebecca (Allen)Reisdorph, and Robert (Brooke) Reale; siblings, Scott Payne, Jimmie Lee Carmon Jr., Susan Capps and Gaynell Hall; 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 15, 2024, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe
