ennie Ruth Akin, 91, of Flintstone, GA, passed away Monday, August 3, 2026. She was born on January 26, 1935, in Richard City, TN. She was a devout Christian and attended Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church. She retired from Chatter Drugs after 25 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Etta (Steele) Stubblefield; her husband, Ken Akin; her son, David Akin; her brothers, William, Tommy, Harvey, Jr., Walter, Johnny, James and Paul; and her sisters, Sula, Ruby, Mary, Anna, and Bettye.

Survivors include her son, Douglas and Janice Akin; her granddaughters, Terah Curry and Jennifer Holcomb; her great-grandson, Brandon Curry; great-granddaughters, Ellison and Shannon; and lots of friends and neighbors.

A visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, August 10, at Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church, 3371 Chattanooga Valley Rd., Flintstone, GA 30725.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, at Chattanooga Valley Presbyterian Church with Pastor Roger Collins officiating. A burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga.
