Jo Ann Lacey, age 82, longtime resident of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away Parkridge Main Medical Center, Chattanooga, Tennessee on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Mrs. Lacey, daughter of the late George Morrison and Josie Bell Culberson Morrison, was born October 1, 1942 in Ringgold, Georgia. She was a longtime member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and then later Anchor of Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Lacey retired as a Registered Nurse of over 40 years of faithful service in the Labor and Delivery Units at Hutcheson Medical Center for several years, and then later at East Ridge Hospital before retiring. Mrs. Lacey enjoyed spending time gardening, and taking trips to the mountains and the lake. She would be seen by family and friends many times sewing, crocheting, and working on crafts. Mrs. Lacey also enjoyed watching game shows, old classic movies, and listening to Oldies music. The family remembers her as a lady who loved her family immensely.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Cecil Gravitt, Sr.; son, Tim Gravitt; two sisters, Mary Crider and Diane Rodriquez; one brother, Charles Morrison; and a close friend, Betty Gilbreath.
Mrs. Lacey is survived by her husband Earl Lacey; two daughters, Ceci Ledford and Debbie (Ricky) Young; two sons, Lewis Gravitt, Jr. and Mike (Teresa) Gravitt; three sisters, Betty Morrison, Peggy (Bruce) Watkins, and Judy Shaw; three brothers, Labron (Sue) Morrison, Larry (Elaine) Morrison, and Ray Morrison; step-daughter, Jennifer Lacey; step-son, Charles Lacey; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Saturday, October 12, 2024, 11 a.m. with Reverend Dan Mouw officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
