Joyce Ellene Kennedy Hopkins, 83 of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024. She was born in Thomaston, Georgia on November 10, 1940 to the late, John Thomas & Donie Bell Kennedy and had lived in Atlanta, Georgia from the early 1960’s to 2005, before moving to the North Georgia area. She was of the Christian faith and had served as a Bus Driver & Assistant Teacher with the Tabernacle Christian School for many years. She was a loving and devoted sister, wife, mother and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Alfred Hopkins and brother, Johnny Thomas Kennedy, Jr.
Survivors include her sons & daughter-in-law, Eugene Hopkins and David & (Suzanne) Hopkins; sister, Rachel Cargile; and numerous extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the LaFayette Chapel. Burial will follow in the LaFayette Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
