Karen Lynn Wright, age 67, resident of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Karen, daughter of the late John Burnette, Jr. and Evelyn Marie Dunlap Burnette, was born June 13, 1957 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was Baptist by faith and worked several years in retail, Assistant Manager of Tools and Treasures. Karen was an avid Alabama football fan and 70’s rock/pop music. She enjoyed watching deer in the park, planting flowers, and taking trips to the beach. While at home, she enjoyed reading, and watching TV – particularly Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. The family remembers her as a funny, happy, and outgoing lady- one who loved animals and the 70s. Most of all she loved her family immensely.
Karen is survived by her husband, Gary Wright, Sr.; three daughters, Evelyn (“Peanut”) Cothran, Randa (Richard) Davis, and Alicia (Mike) Jordan; one son, Gary (Sara) Wright, Jr.; one sister, Phyllis (Jerry) Nichols; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 3-8 p.m.
