Kathie Lynn Smolik Cruise, age 57 of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. She was born in Chattanooga, was a resident of the Chattanooga area for most of her life and was of the Christian faith. Kathie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend and fiancé who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Ricky Smolik, step father, James Hurst; and grandchild, Kaylee. Kathie is survived by her children, Michael (Tricia) Smolik and Brittany Bailey; mother, Margaret Miles Hurst; sisters, Donna (Tim) Wright, Sherry Thomas, and Deb Harris; brother, Ricky Smolik and Jimmy Ray Hurst; grandchildren, Kaydence, Alissa, Kaitlyn, Ethan, Ashton, Elijah, and Bonnie; fiancé, Barless Hayworth; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Joey Kelley officiating.
