Larry Earl Williams, Sr., age 76, gave up this life for the next on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Mr. Williams, son of the late Paul Milton Williams and Ruth Clayton Williams, was born June 8, 1949 in Bat Cave, North Carolina. He spent his life in the auction business starting with 5D Auction and ending after almost 50 years at Westside Auction.
Mr. Williams enjoyed taking trips to casinos (particularly Murphy, TN and Cherokee, NC); was a trader of trucks; and enjoyed old classic cars (owning a 1942 Dodge Panel Wagon “The Gangster Wagon”). While at home, many would find him watching game shows and classic westerns; and listening to classic country music.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Jack Williams, Boyse Williams, Ann Adams, and Danny Williams.
Mr. Williams is survived by one daughter, Anita (Charlie) Griffin; one son, Lee (Joe) Williams; bonus-son, Lupe Esquivel; sister-in-law, Grace; four grandchildren, Shawn Griffin, Donna Griffin, Brooke Griffin, and Monroe Griffin (his most favorite); numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of W.L. Wilson Funeral Home, 555 West Cloud Springs Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on Thursday, May 7, 2026. Entombment will follow at Calvary Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, 2200 Cedar Lane, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, May 7, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Catoosa County Stockings Full of Love “Pass the Basket” at the Catoosa County Sheriffs Office, 5842 Hwy 41, Ringgold, Georgia 30736.
