Lawanna Kay Thompson

Lawanna Kay Thompson, age 72, of LaFayette, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026.

She was a devoted member of the Rock Spring Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Over the years, she built a strong and admirable work ethic, retiring from Southern Technology in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She later continued her career with Nissin Brake in Rock Spring and faithfully completed her working years at Roper Corporation, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and perseverance.

Lawanna is survived by her sons, Ryan Cutcher and Nathan (Brooke) Owens; grandchildren, Sage and Sawyer Owens; uncle and aunt, David and Anna Vines; niece, April Rose; nephew, Josh Rose; cousins, David and Susan Morrison, and Dawn Vines Seward; along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish her memory.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, at the LaFayette City Cemetery.

A visitation will take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
