James “Snowball” Lonnie Nix, age 74, of Rocky Face, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.
He worked at Mohawk of Dalton in their maintenance department for 41 years until his retirement.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ethel Nix; daughter, Tabitha (Stephan) Wooten; son, James Michael Nix; grandchildren, Austin (Casey) Todd, Tyler Todd, Kylie (Trevor) Womack, Lily-Ann McClure, and Wyatt Nix; great-grandchildren, Layton, Layah, Zhyan, Zaylan, and Waylon; brother, John David “J.D.” (Pat) Nix; special nieces and nephews, Kurt (Sissie) Ridley, Brenda (Robert) Simmons, Tinse Thompson, and Robbie (Carol) Thompson; and several other nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, August 21, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wayne Clements officiating.
Interment will take place at White Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kurt Ridley, Jesse Ridley, Matt Nix, Chris Nix, Gary Jeffers, and Andrew Cochran.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, August 20, at the funeral home.
