Loreta “Reta” Blansit
July 7, 1932 - April 11, 2024

Loreta “Reta” Blansit, age 91, resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Mrs. Blansit, daughter of the late Thomas Matthew Lovvorn and Jessie McLeod Lovvorn, was born July 7, 1932 in Dekalb County, Alabama. She was retired from Gilman Paint and in prior years worked as a switchboard operator for the City of Chattanooga, and Lockheed Martin. She was also a professional seamstress. Mrs. Blansit was an active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Blansit enjoyed reading, shopping, being outdoors and talking with her friends and family. Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners will never be the same without our Mamaw Reta. When the family thinks about her legacy, they immediately say she was a woman who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul. The scripture that describes her best is found in Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Gordon Blansit. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Scott; son, Larry Blansit (Angela); sister, Martha Jean Kaylor; three grandchildren, Chris Blansit (Jennifer), Brian McBryar (Tona), and Keith McBryar; eight great-grandchildren, Marissa Blansit, Lauryn Blansit, Reece Blansit, Tanner Blansit, Vivian Lively, Brayleigh McBryar, Caitlin McBryar, and Blaine McDowell; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services are scheduled at Lakewood Memory Gardens South Cemetery, 325 Greens Lake Road, Rossville, Georgia on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 2 p.m. with Reverend George Brown officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to support the missionary Fred Russell (Barbara) at:
