May 14, 1944 - July 18, 2026
Lynn Margo Wemmer of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, passed away on July 18 at the age of 82. Lynn was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota and grew up with her older brother, Donald, and younger siblings, David, Paul, and Faith.
She attended Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she met her roommate and lifelong best friend, Joy Wemmer. Through Joy, she met Joy's brother, Jerry, the man she would marry. Together, Lynn and Jerry built a life in Calhoun, Georgia, where they raised their son, Todd.
Lynn had a quick wit and a wonderfully dry sense of humor. She was endlessly devoted to Jerry, serving as his constant caregiver and companion until his passing in 2009. She could spell nearly any word without hesitation, somehow knew the names of actors despite rarely going to the movies, and never turned down a box of Juju Fruits.
In her later years, Lynn moved closer to Joy and her mother-in-law, Minnie Wemmer. The three shared a special bond, spending countless hours together enjoying each other's company, laughter, and friendship.
Lynn especially looked forward to visits from Todd, his wife, Cheri, and her grandchildren, Sam and Annabelle, who traveled from Massachusetts whenever they could.
Grounded in her Christian faith, Lynn will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, unwavering devotion to her family and friends, and the kindness she shared throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wemmer, and her parents, Roy and Gladys Albers. She is survived by her son, Todd Wemmer, and daughter-in-law, Cheri Wemmer, both of Massachusetts; her grandchildren, Samuel and Annabelle Wemmer; her sister-in-law and lifelong friend, Joy Wemmer; her brothers, Donald, David, and Paul Albers; and her sister, Faith Albers.
