Martha Virginia Hughes Worley, 83, of Ringgold, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 21, 2024. She was born in Ringgold, Georgia on December 22, 1940 to the late, Kermit & Virginia Benton Hughes and had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life. She was of the Christian faith and graduated from Ringgold High School, Class of 59. She loved sewing and people knew she could sew or make anything. She enjoyed camping, going to the beach, tending to her flowers and loved spending time with her family. She was a loving and devoted sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joy Wyrick.
Survivors include her children, Rene Ownbey, Ryan Stickland and Trisha Worley & (Curtis); brothers & sisters-in-law, Odis & (Sue) Hughes, Charles & (Judy) Hughes and Joe Hughes; sisters & brother-in-law, Diana Patrick, Barbara Hughes, Judy & (Terry) Putnam and Vickie Hullender; 7 grandchildren, Andrew Bennett, Amber & (Taylor) Pullum, Zachariah Strickland, Trevor & (Chloe) Pierce, Sierra & (Austin) Morris, Trey Wilson & Tynslee Wilson; 9 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Logan, Xander, Kyrie, Nova, Carter, Emerson, Jameson and Huxton; several nieces, nephews and numerous extended family & friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 23, 2024 in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel. Burial will be private.
