Donald “Don” Fredrick Guinn age 93, of Rossville, Georgia went home to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom he loved to tell people about. Don was born in Cleveland, Tennessee to the late Leonard T. and Laura Aslinger Guinn. He served his country in the U.S. Army where he earned Specialist 3rd Class and was a proud veteran. He was the former owner and operator of the Exxon Service Station at the corner of Highway 27 and Forrest Road for about ten years. Don worked in banking for many years and retired from First Tennessee Bank in the late nineties. After retirement he began working at W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe for many years and was a very dedicated hard worker. Don enjoyed working, but his passion was serving The Lord. Don was a founding member of United Baptist Church, that today is Battlefield Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. He served when and at whatever capacity he was able including deacon, Sunday School teacher, treasurer, choir director and lay preacher. He also served in The Rock of Ages Prison Ministry for around ten years, going and sharing The Gospel with many inmates. Don relied on The Lord in his life and especially through becoming a widow three times. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wives: Ruby Carden Guinn, Dora Clayton Guinn and Doris Stanley Guinn, and his brothers: Tom and Melvin Guinn. He is survived by their children: Don & Ruby’s: Brenda (Curt) Hampton, Teresa (Rocky) Allmon, Dennis (Alicia) Guinn, Rene’ (Rick) Haney, Don & Dora’s: Phyllis (Ray) Ivey, Greg Guinn, daughter-in-law: Cherry Guinn, Don & Doris’s: Pat (Gleason) Brown, deceased daughter and son-in-law: Billie Sue (Bill) Goodman, twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, sisters: Mary Alice Roe, Naomi Leamon, sister-in-law: Janie Guinn, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM – Tuesday – April 28, 2026 at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors and Pastor David Crane officiating. Arrangements entrusted to W.L.
