Peggy Louise Pendergrass
October 22, 1944 – December 5, 2024

Peggy Louise Pendergrass, 80, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2024. She was born in Swanee, Tennessee, to the late Russell and Audie Shetters. Peggy had lived in the Chattanooga area for over sixty years, had been a member of Lighthouse of the Word since 1987, and was a member of The Daughters of Zion. Peggy always enjoyed painting, making crafts, and cooking for others. She always enjoyed watching her hummingbirds and visiting with her family. The holidays were Peggy’s favorite time of year, and she always enjoyed cooking and making family gatherings memorable. She loved her family, and she always enjoyed the time she spent with each one of them. Her family dearly loved her, and she will be greatly missed.

Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty years, Alvin Leon Pendergrass; parents, Russell and Audie Shetters; daughter, Patty Brown; and her brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Rick (Karen) Pendergrass of Rossville, Georgia; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her special niece, Nancy Steele; and several nieces and nephews.

The family has arranged a time to remember and honor Peggy. We invite friends and family to join us on Monday, December 9, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The funeral service, a time to celebrate Peggy’s life, will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Mike Lowery and Dale Guy officiating.
