Raymond “Doug” Douglas Green, age 80, of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 5, 2024. He was a life long resident of Ringgold Georgia and attended North Whitfield Missionary Baptist Church. In his early life, he worked with Candlewick Yarns and Shaw Industries before retiring from Textile Rubber in 2007. Doug was ordained in 1982, as a deacon at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill, Georgia and sang with the Gospel Soul Seekers for over twenty years. In his free time, he enjoyed raising farm animals and keeping honeybees. Doug was a devoted Christian, husband and father.
He is preceded in death by his son, David Anthony Green; daughter, Cynthia Kay Green; parents, William Perry Green and Martha Lou Land Green; as well as three sisters and two brothers.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Juanita Green; daughter, Regina (Timmy) Roberson; son, Jackie Green; sisters, Judy (Wandall) Babb, Jewel (Lamar) Silvey, and Betty Rivers; grandchildren, Chrissy Wofford, Andrew Roberson, Keisha Henry; great grandchildren, Jeremiah, Stephen, Brianna, Bailey, Holly, Elijah, Bri, Harrison, Owen, Seth, and Mia.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at North Whitfield Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at North Whitfield Missionary Baptist Church, 3825 Chattanooga Road Tunnel Hill, GA 30755 with Pastor J.T.
