Richard James Sharp, age 69, of Trion passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024.
He graduated from Basic Correction Officer Training and worked at Hays State Prison from 1990 to 2012. He also worked at Walmart for seven years.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edith Sharp; stepfather, Don Claire; sisters, Judy Goselin, Betty Grandpre, Jenny Claire, Dottie Jones, and Stella Day; and brothers, Sonny Sharp and Danny Claire.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Sharp; daughter, Hilary (Robert) Stanlick; son, Tim Sharp; grandchildren, Logan Teasley and Zach Sharp; great-grandchildren, Hudson Teasley and Oaklyn Teasley; sister, Jeanette Sharp; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 17, at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
