Richard Walker, Sr. age 92, resident of Lafayette, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 2024 at Hospice Care Center, Chattanooga, Tennessee. Private services were held in Dalton, Georgia.
Mr. Walker, son of the late Harvey William Walker and Lena Perdue, was born January 27, 1932, in Wayne County, Huntington, West Virginia. He was Protestant by faith and was a Pipefitter for over 40 years, with many of those years at Davis Construction. Mr. Walker loved to take sailing ventures and traveling the country, especially in the mountains. While at home, he had a strong passion for creating oil paintings. He also enjoyed gardening and watching wildlife. The family remembers him as a great provider and protector; a loving family man; and a great leader, who leads by example.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Jones Walker; and three sons, Richard Lee Walker, Jr., Daryll Bryan Walker, and Robert Irwin Walker.
Mr. Walker is survived by one son, Frederick (Rhonda) Walker; twenty-four grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
