Robert Butler, age 85, of Chickamauga passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle Louise Butler; his parents, Milphford and Minnie Butler; brothers, J.R. Butler, M.H. Butler, Ernest Butler, Archie Butler, Lester Butler, Howard Butler, D.D Butler, and Joe Butler; and sisters, Evergreen Kennett and Truevillor Butler.
Robert was a Godly man and was a charter member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church for 54 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Jeff) Baker; sons, Wesley (Sonia) Butler and Greg (Tracie) Butler; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Albert Butler of Dalton; sister, Katherine (Donald) Garmany of Chickamauga; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, at Way of the Cross Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Chastain officiating.
Interment will take place at Coulter Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be Ronald Parrish, Donnie Parrish, Connie Parrish, Geno Langston, Hunter Langston, and Brian Autry.
A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, with a second visitation held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
