Sarah Helen Lawson

Sarah Helen Lawson, 72, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Sarah was born in LaFayette, Georgia, on March 4, 1954, to the late Nell Jones and was a lifelong resident of Northwest Georgia. Sarah enjoyed gardening, spending quiet time with a good book, and caring for her many dogs. She had a big heart and loved helping people. Most of all, she loved her family and every moment she spent with them. She was dearly loved by her family and everyone who knew her, and she will be greatly missed.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Butch Jones and David Jones; her son, James Floyd; and her first husband, Kenneth Floyd.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Roy Harold Lawson; her sons, Robert Floyd of LaFayette, Georgia, and Zachery (Sarah) Green of Chattanooga, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Houge, Ken Floyd, Christian Floyd, Kayla Floyd, Cole Floyd, Brandon Floyd, and Matthew Floyd; and four much-loved great-grandchildren.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join us in remembering and honoring Sarah on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, April 10, 2026, from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for our family during this difficult time.
