SFC (Ret) Ralph L. Rogers
March 12, 1935 - November 3, 2024

SFC (Ret) Ralph L. Rogers, age 89, resident of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away on November 3, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Rogers, son of the late Aubrey Rogers and Ada Sewell Rogers, was born March 12, 1935 in Rome, Georgia. He was retired from the U.S. Army, where he honorably served his country in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Conflict. Later after his retirement from the military, he began a career in law enforcement. Mr. Rogers joined the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department and faithfully served the Chattanooga area for over 20 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant.
Mr. Rogers was an avid Georgia Bulldog football and Atlanta Braves baseball. He enjoyed woodworking; birdwatching; and planting trees. While at home, family and friends would see him watching classic western movies, reading, or listening to country music. The family remembers him as a man who was a people person – always willing to help someone in a time of need.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Davis; and a son, Robert Rogers.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Martha Rogers; three daughters, Terry (Barry) Boyd, Theresa Fulmer; and Melissa (Billy) McHugh; one son, David Rogers; one sister, Jewell Tomlinson; two brothers, Calvin Rogers and Aubrey (Judy) Rogers; eleven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. with Reverend Brian Kearns officiating.
