Stephen “Steve” R. Thompson age, 69, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Steve was born in the West Brow community on Lookout Mountain. He was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia and Chattanooga area, attending Brainerd Baptist Church, when able due to his health. Before his health declined, Steve loved to play golf; one of his favorite memories was attending the Masters 5 years ago with his wife, Sheila. He was an EMT for many years and worked in electrical contracting for over 25 years. He recently retired from Adman Electric as a project manager. Steve loved the Lord, was loved by many, and put his family first.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Thompson and Joyce Higdon Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Jenkins Thompson; children, Brian (Holly) Vandagriff and Laura (Kevin) Baggett; siblings, Mike (Claudette) Thompson, Karen (John) Cline; brother-in-law Chris (Gail) Jenkins; grandchildren, Emma Vandagriff and Cylia and Lucas Baggett, as well as several nieces and nephews. They would like to thank their friends and family for their support and prayers during this difficult time.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, November 1, 2024, between 4:00-6:00 PM at Brainerd Crossroads (BX), 4011 Austin Street, Chattanooga, TN. Donations may be made in his memory to Brainerd Baptist Church.
