Trudie M. Bratton

Trudie M. Bratton, 91, previously of West Monroe, LA, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Chickamauga, GA, surrounded by her family.

Trudie was born on September 5, 1934, in Baskin, LA, to Archie and Martha Jane McDougle. She was a founding member of Cedar Crest SBC in West Monroe, LA.

Trudie owned a wedding shop where she provided wedding consulting, baked wedding cakes, flower arranging, and many tasks associated with wedding planning. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to quilt.

Trudie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles W. Bratton; her siblings, Mittie Lou McCaa, Alice Jackson, Emily Merriwether, Walter McDougle, and Rosie Sikes; and her son-in-law, Mike Moore.

Trudie is survived by her daughters, Beverley Kay Moore and Paula D. (Mike) Potter; her grandchildren, Emily (Dalton) Green and Christopher (Denver) Potter; her great-grandchildren, Charlsie and Charlotte Green.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caretaker, Gladys Eubanks, for her compassion and care for Mom.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday, June 13. A private family burial will take place at Chickamauga City Cemetery in Chickamauga, GA.
