Reverend Wayman Alexander Chambers, 74 of Ringgold, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2024. He spent most of his life in Harrison, Tennessee and proudly served in the United States Navy. Through out his life, Wayman was an evangelist, sang bass in the Oak River Quartet for many years and most recently was the Pastor of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Ringgold, Georgia. He enjoyed spending time in the Lord’s creation with horses, time in the mountains and feeding the deer. Above all, Wayman loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Alexander Chambers and Dorothy Mathis Chambers; sisters, Yvonne Robinson and Karen Cranmore.
Wayman is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sonya Mosier Chambers; son, Shane (Cherish) Chambers; daughter, Misty (Sean) Moon; sisters, Noveita (Randy) Roe, Glynis Chambers; mother-in-law, Martha Mosier; sister-in-law, Pam Picket; twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church (491 Gentry Road Ringgold, Georgia 30736) with Pastor Hoyt Williams officiating.
