William Anthony “Tony” Gross
May 26, 1969 - March 13, 2026

William Anthony “Tony” Gross, age 56, of Chickamauga, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2026. Born in Fort Oglethorpe, he was the son of the late James William Gross and Judith Gail McDowell Gross. Tony was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was of the Baptist faith.
Tony worked in the construction industry for most of his life, where he was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to lend a helping hand. In his spare time, he greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. He was an avid fan of University of Alabama football and a devoted NASCAR enthusiast. Tony also loved spending time working on his old Ford trucks, a hobby that brought him much joy. Above all, he cherished time with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jamie Nicole Presley-Dye.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lorena Bridgett Gross; his children, Brittany Wallace and Matthew (Chelsea) Gross; his sisters, Lisa Hill and Denise Brooks; his grandchildren, Dawson Gross and Madison Gross; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Grand Center Cemetery in Chickamauga, with Bro. Billy Chastain officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to leaving for the cemetery on Thursday.
