William “Dean” Price age 92, of Ringgold, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 14, 2026. A lifelong resident of North Georgia, Dean was a long-time member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and for many years, volunteered to drive the church bus. Dean retired from Colonial Baking after thirty-eight years of running a bread route. During his time at Colonial Baking, he was awarded numerous safe driving awards.
After retirement, Dean began working on his farm. He bailed hay, raised cattle and ran a commercial poultry layers operation. In his free time, he loved to sing and enjoyed singing at nursing homes with his cousin Edwin.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Coy “Red” Price and Edith Gaston Price, as well as his sister, Mary “Pete” Wittenbarger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty A. Price; his children, Steve (Kelle) Smith, Kim (Mike) Stapp, and Rodney Price, all of Ringgold, Georgia; grandchildren, Jason Stapp, Chastity Smith, Sidney Fields, Paxton Smith, and Bradon Kodi Price, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as his close cousin, Edwin and Sheila Hixson.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, with Pastor Mark Shaw officiating in the Wallis – Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes.
