Willie Douglas Bennett
October 31, 1951 – January 16, 2025
Willie Douglas Bennett, 73, of Chatsworth, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2025. He was born in Rockwood, Tennessee, to the late Raymond and Juanita Bennett. Doug had lived in the Northwest Georgia area his entire life, attended New Life Baptist Church in East Ridge, Tennessee, and worked as a truck driver for over fifty years. Doug enjoyed going camping and spending time with family and friends. He loved his dogs, Charlie and Shady Gray. Doug was a proud man who was known for his integrity. He always kept his word and it was important to him to be on time. Doug was a wonderful husband, father, and “Pop.” He was an amazing son and was good to his mother. No matter where he was, on the road driving or at home, he was always faithful in taking care of her. Doug was a good man; his family's love for him was deep and unwavering, and his absence will be deeply felt.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Juanita Bennett, and sister, Linda Cawood.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of twenty years, Kathy Bennett of Chatsworth, Georgia; children, Doug (Tammy) Bennett, II of Ringgold, Georgia, Jason Bennett of Chickamauga, Georgia, Adrian Bennett of Ringgold, Georgia, Cindy (Leon) Sales of Cumming, Georgia, Alisha (Brent) Johnson of Ranger, Georgia, Jason (Susan) Penley of Brasstown, North Carolina; sisters, Sheila (Dale) Bennett and Nancy Bennett both of Silver Creek, Georgia; twenty-one grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
