This week our community has come together to remember two of our own who passed away, and to pray for one who is still healing from the horrible wreck on Highway 27 Tuesday afternoon. We wanted to share some of the outpouring of care shown by the community to those mourning and still trying to recover.
From LaFayette High School Social Media:
“We want to honor the memory of both of our LHS classmates who have lost their lives in this tragic accident in our community yesterday. This tragedy has completely rocked our school family, and our community. Please help us to continue to lift up both parents and extended families in your thoughts and prayers. Out of respect for both families we have tried to first respect the privacy and time they needed to mourn.
Please continue to lift up in your thoughts & prayers Cooper Mitchell, brother of Cassidy, 🎓Class of 2028, as he continues to heal and recover from his injuries.
Once a Rambler, Always a Rambler! 🖤🧡
We all mourn the loss of …
Cassidy Mitchell, 🎓Class of 2024
Brennon Beavers 🎓Class of 2026”

Saddle Ridge K-8 FCA Social Media:
“…We will continue to lift up every family, friend, classmate, teacher, and coach touched by yesterday’s tragedy.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

From Saddle Ridge K-8 Social Media:
Our Mustang hearts are hurting today. We have the privilege of seeing our kiddos grow for 10 grade-levels. When you walk into our classrooms, walk in the community, and wear our SR colors you become family. The Mitchell family took so much pride in being a part of our Mustang Nation & their smiles have brought so many of us joy.
Mrs. Beavers is the glue that holds so many of us together, including her wonderful third grade class. We know that our community will come together and rally around her in this unimaginable time.
Sending all our love to the Mitchell & Beavers Families

From LaFayette Middle School Social Media:
“Today, we remember and honor a bright light taken from us far too soon. Brennon Beavers was more than just a student—he was a true Rambler through and through. His smile could light up any room, and his kindness, leadership, and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
In 8th grade, Brennon was awarded the Rambler Legacy Award—an honor given to a student whose impact will be felt long after they’ve moved on. He truly embodied the Rambler Spirit: heart, strength, compassion, and community.
Though he’s no longer with us, Brennon’s legacy will always live on in the halls of LMS and in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
We also hold space in our hearts for Cassidy Mitchell and her family. Each student left a mark on our community, and their memories continue to inspire and remind us to cherish every moment.![]()
