The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a new phone scam. Several reports have been made of callers impersonating bonding companies, claiming to help with inmate bonds. Authorities say the scammers tell victims they are reaching out to arrange bond payments for someone they know—or someone they’re related to—and will ask for payment over the phone. The Sheriff’s Office urges residents to be cautious. If you receive such a call, do not provide any personal or financial information. Instead, hang up and contact a reputable bonding company directly using a known phone number. Remember, if it feels suspicious, it probably is.
