The state of Georgia will begin issuing one-time tax refunds to eligible residents in the coming weeks, following the passage of House Bill 112 during the 2025 legislative session. Most taxpayers who filed their 2023 and 2024 returns on time will receive refunds automatically. Refund amounts are based on 2023 tax liability and capped at $250 for single filers and married individuals filing separately, $375 for head-of-household filers, and $500 for married couples filing jointly. To qualify, taxpayers must have filed all required returns, paid state income taxes, and owe no outstanding balance to the Georgia Department of Revenue.
