Rossville, GA (June 16, 2025) — A call to Walker County Animal Control about aggressive dogs has led to aggravated animal cruelty charges against two Rossville residents.
Tabitha Henley, 43, was arrested after officials responded to a report from a realtor who said multiple dogs aggressively charged him while he was attempting to show a property on Ridgeland Road. A warrant has also been issued for Henley’s boyfriend, Richard Nealon, who faces the same charge.
The realtor reported that several dogs from a nearby property were barking, growling, and charging at him. When Animal Control Officer Tyler Bishop arrived at 349 Ridgeland Road, he observed one of the dogs struggling to walk. Upon speaking with Henley, she admitted the dog had been hit by a vehicle some time ago and confirmed she had not taken it to a veterinarian, a violation of Georgia law.
Henley surrendered the injured dog, which was transported for medical evaluation. A veterinarian determined that the animal had suffered a broken leg, likely months prior, and recommended amputation due to the severity and ongoing pain caused by the untreated injury.
If convicted, Henley and Nealon could each face up to five years in prison, a $15,000 fine, or both.
Walker County authorities continue to investigate the incident.
