Drivers in northwest Georgia are seeing the best fuel deals in the state, with Catoosa, Dade, and Walker Counties reporting the lowest average gas prices in Georgia at just $2.72 per gallon for regular unleaded.
According to AAA, the statewide average price for gasoline has dropped to $2.90 per gallon, down four cents from last week. While that’s two cents higher than a month ago, it’s still 42 cents cheaper than this time last year.
For a typical 15-gallon fill-up, Georgians are now spending about $43.50—nearly $7 less than they would have paid a year ago.
Elsewhere in Georgia, the most expensive metro areas include Savannah at $2.98, Atlanta at $2.93, and Macon at $2.92. In contrast, Dalton and Rome are also seeing lower-than-average prices at $2.79 and $2.78, respectively.
Nationally, the average gas price has also dipped by four cents, currently sitting at $3.14 per gallon. Electric vehicle drivers saw no change in cost this week, with public charging station rates holding steady at 36 cents per kilowatt-hour.
