Walker County Chairwoman Angie Teems is resuming her town hall meetings starting tomorrow night. The series, themed “Common Sense is Our Common Ground,” is at the Rossville Community Center. Teems will give an update on her first six months in office, then open the floor for public questions. Additional meetings will be held July 22, 24, and 29 at locations across the county. A wreck yesterday morning on I-75 north bound sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries.  The accident occurred near the Adairsville exit and had northbound traffic backed up for miles.  The wreck involved a motorcycle and a semi-truck.  The motorcyclist was air lifted to the hospital.  The man’s name and condition is unknown at this time.
Three felony arrests on Saturday in Walker County.  Among those facing charges, 19-year -old Jackson Clearance Brockway was arrested on charges of drug related DUI, possession of schedule one and possession with the intent to distribute.
 The Georgia Department of Transportation is proposing a new bypass on the southwest side of Summerville to ease traffic and boost safety. Plans include roundabouts at State Routes 114, 100, and U.S. 27. GDOT is asking for public input through an online portal and at an open house on Tuesday, July 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Chattooga County Civic Center. The public comment period runs through August 15. Details and surveys are available now on GDOT’s website.
