The Georgia Department of Transportation has closed State Route 193 at Highway 27 to allow maintenance crews to repair a nearby drainage structure.  The work is scheduled to continue through Friday.  A detour is in place.  If you are traveling west on 27, you’ll need to take a right on West Villanow Street and then a left on South Chattanooga Street to be able to reconnect with 193.  Drivers should expect delays.

16-year-old Matthew Brian Johnson has been reported as a runaway.  He was last seen at his home in Fort Oglethorpe last Wednesday.  Matthew is described as a white male about five feet seven inches tall, blonde hair, hazel green eyes and a slender build.  He also has a distinctive earring in his right ear.  Authorities say he may still be in the area.  A photo shows the clothing he was wearing when he was last seen.  You can view that on the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department social media pages.  If you have any information on the where abouts of Matthew Brian Johnson please call the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department.

Only one felony arrest in Walker County on Sunday.  Bryant O’Neal Hall was booked on charges of aggravated assaultand simple battery.  The arrest reports are updated daily on DiscoverWalker.com.

It’s a busy week for LaFayette High School Softball.  The Ramblers are in action today at 5:30pm hosting Calhoun.  The homestand continues tomorrow vs. Heritage.  The two teams play again on Thursday at Heritage.  The first pitch is at 5:30pm.  Big congratulations to LaFayette Football.  They are now 3-1 ont he season after beating Trion 32-14 on Friday.  The Ramblers will face Adairsville for Homecoming on Friday night.
