The Georgia Department of Transportation has closed State Route 193 at Highway 27 to allow maintenance crews to repair a nearby drainage structure. The work is scheduled to continue through Friday. A detour is in place. If you are traveling west on 27, you’ll need to take a right on West Villanow Street and then a left on South Chattanooga Street to be able to reconnect with 193. Drivers should expect delays.
16-year-old Matthew Brian Johnson has been reported as a runaway. He was last seen at his home in Fort Oglethorpe last Wednesday. Matthew is described as a white male about five feet seven inches tall, blonde hair, hazel green eyes and a slender build. He also has a distinctive earring in his right ear. It’s a busy week for LaFayette High School Softball. The Ramblers are in action today at 5:30pm hosting Calhoun. The homestand continues tomorrow vs. Heritage.
