The Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help identifying a robbery suspect. Around 3:49 AM on September 12th, a masked man armed with a handgun entered the Circle K on Highway 41. He quickly fled without taking anything, jumping into a waiting Nissan Pathfinder with no tag. The suspect is described as a Black male, 20 to 30 years old, with dreadlocks, about 6 feet tall and 210 pounds. The Walker County Animal Shelter is closed today for a full day of deep cleaning. Staff say the closure is to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for both animals and visitors. They appreciate your patience and understanding, and the shelter will reopen as normal tomorrow.
The City of Fort Oglethorpe will hold a City Council meeting this Monday, September 22nd, at 6 p.m. at City Hall. A workshop for administrative items begins an hour earlier at 5. The agenda includes several ordinance readings—from rezoning requests and variance approvals to the first reading of the proposed FY 2026 budget. Council will also consider appointments, insurance contract renewals, and a major infrastructure project in the Historic District. The public is welcome to attend.
There were four felony arrests on Saturday in Walker County.  37-year-old Montels Dewon Slocum was booked on possession of meth charges.  Dustin Cody Clark, 36-years-old was arrest on possession of meth and also had an outstanding warrant.  Dagen Carroll Fowler, 23-years-old was charged with possession of meth.  Geovonnie Krosean Norwood, 20 – was booked on a possession of marijuana charge.
