Two experienced pilots, Richard Westmoreland, 37, and Tim Glenshaw, died Tuesday in a hang-gliding accident shortly after launching from Lookout Mountain. Westmoreland had just returned from flying in Switzerland and was planning a winter gliding trip to New Zealand. Georgia’s primitive weapons deer hunting season kicks off a week from this Saturday, October 11. Last year, over 26,000 hunters harvested nearly 6,000 deer, according to the state’s Wildlife Resources Division. Legal weapons include archery gear, air bows, muzzleloaders, and air rifles .30 caliber or larger. Hunters can take up to 10 antlerless deer and two antlered, with specific antler requirements.
