WTVC-TV in Chattanooga has uncovered new details about a Walker County teacher with a troubling history across multiple school districts.  Nathan Dawson was formally reprimanded in Georgia in 2017 for sending over 60 text messages in one hour to a Whitfield County student. He resigned just weeks before that reprimand.  Later, while teaching in Hamilton County, Dawson was investigated for a possible inappropriate relationship. Though no charges were filed, investigators found he was “not truthful” and his contract wasn’t renewed.  Despite red flags, Dawson was hired in Walker County, where he’s part of the faculty at Ridgeland High School.  Dawson also faces a DUI charge from this summer in Hamilton County and an open ethics case in Georgia.
