A Summerville man accused of setting fire to a Gordon County home with a woman and small child inside was arrested yesterday. The Gordon County Sheriff’s Office says the victims barely escaped, and the home was a total loss. Detectives recovered extensive evidence linking 46-year-old Charles Timothy Battles to the fire. Battles had been on the run since early Saturday, and deputies had warned he was dangerous. He was arrested inside a home in the Scottsville community after tips from residents. Battles is charged with attempted murder, arson, and aggravated stalking. Officials say he was already on probation for a previous stalking conviction after pleading guilty in October.
Channing Wilson continues to dominate on The Road. The LaFayette singer earned the highest audience rating again Sunday night in Oklahoma City, marking his third straight week at the top.
