A Rossville man is facing multiple charges after police say he was driving under the influence of drugs and injured a child during a crash on Highway 27 northbound Saturday afternoon.  Chattanooga police say a silver sedan was first reported driving erratically on Rossville Boulevard, running onto a sidewalk, nearly hitting another vehicle, and scraping a concrete barrier on I-24. The driver later lost control on Highway 27, striking multiple concrete barriers before the car came to rest across the roadway.  Police identified the driver as 30-year-old David Jacob Brown. Officers say a child passenger was not buckled in and suffered a head injury. The child was taken to a local hospital for treatment.  Brown denied drinking but admitted to snorting hydrocodone. Police say he was driving on a suspended license and had fentanyl and other drugs inside the vehicle.  Brown faces several charges, including DUI, vehicular assault, and reckless endangerment. He is scheduled to appear in court February 4th, 2026.
