Trion City Schools are on a 2-hour delay. Staff and Teachers should report at 9 this morning. Students report at 10. Walker County Government Offices and the landfill are closed. City of LaFayette Offices including City Hall and Parks and Recreation will operate on a 2-hour delay. Walker County Courthouse is closed today. All Health Departments in Northwest Georgia are closed. The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Court is closed. Catoosa County Government has closed today also.

A 59-year-old man arrested in a serious injury traffic crash last week in Chattooga County has a history of multiple DUI arrests.
Billy Joe Dooley was taken into custody January 23rd following a crash that seriously injured another person. He was arrested by Georgia State Patrol and booked into the Chattooga County Jail. Dooley is charged with DUI, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, and serious injury by vehicle. Jail records show several prior DUI-related arrests in Chattooga County dating back to 2016.
All charges are accusations, and Dooley is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture has confirmed a second case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a commercial poultry flock in Walker County. The infected operation housed about 16-thousand broiler breeder chickens. State and federal response teams have moved quickly, completing depopulation Friday to prevent further spread. Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper says routine surveillance testing helped identify the virus early, calling the illness a serious threat to Georgia’s poultry industry. All poultry operations within a six-mile control area remain under quarantine, with expanded testing and movement restrictions now in place.
At one point yesterday, more than 900 were without power in Walker County. Crews worked throughout the day and night to restore power. As of early this morning, there were still 44 EPB customers without power. We will continue to keep you updated on power outages throughout the day on Georgia 93-7.
