The Walker County Board of Commissioners will meet for its regularly scheduled session on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Walker County Courthouse Annex III on South Main Street in LaFayette.
The meeting will begin with the invocation and pledge, followed by approval of the agenda and minutes from the March 5 regular meeting and the March 24 special called work session. Commissioners will also issue proclamations recognizing Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and Donate Life Month.

Under the consent agenda, commissioners are expected to consider several routine items, including a consulting services agreement with Atlantic Coast Consulting and the purchase of nine vehicles for the Walker County Sheriff’s Office using SPLOST funds. The vehicle purchases total more than $382,000 and would be acquired through Jenkins Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep and Jacky Jones Automotive.
New business includes a joint resolution with the City of Chickamauga to name the Battlefield Connector Trail after John Culpepper, along with multiple resolutions involving county-owned property in Rossville, a proposed abandonment of a portion of Concord Road, and amendments to the Fiscal Year 2026 budget and 2020 SPLOST project list. Commissioners will also consider culvert relining projects in Flintstone and LaFayette.
