Walker County Schools is encouraging parents of students receiving special education services to complete the annual Parent Satisfaction Survey. The survey helps the Georgia Department of Education measure how well schools involve parents in their child’s education and identify areas for improvement. Parents needing assistance can contact Parent to Parent of Georgia. School officials say participation helps strengthen support and services for students with disabilities.
The Chickamauga City Council meets today at 6 p.m. with several major items on the agenda. Council members will consider a new annexation policy, review a $40,000 planning grant for Crystal Springs, and discuss a proposed $1.45 million downtown blight remediation contract. Other topics include sidewalk improvements, speed humps, historic signage, and future plans for a disc golf course and walking trail.

Old South Grill in Rossville and Bojangles in LaFayette received a 97. The Village Goat in Rock Spring scored a 91. It was a 100 for the Wendy’s and Taco Bell in LaFayette. LaFayette’s newest recreational attraction is now open. Traverse Park on Villanow Street welcomed visitors Saturday. The park features climbing walls, several other attractions and connections to nearby walking trails.
