Walker County voters have an opportunity to cast their ballots today, Saturday, October 17, as early voting continues ahead of the November 3 General Election.
Today marks the first of two Saturdays designated for early voting in Walker County, with another Saturday voting opportunity scheduled for October 24.
Beginning Saturday, October 24, voters will also have access to three additional early voting locations across the county.
Those locations include the Chickamauga Civic Center at 1817 Lee Clarkson Road, the Rossville Civic Center at 400 McFarland Avenue, and the Fairyland Community Center at 1214 Lula Lake Road.
Voters choosing to cast their ballots during the early voting period are not required to vote at their assigned Election Day precinct. Instead, they may use any available early voting location within Walker County.
Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Unlike early voting, voters casting ballots on Election Day must report to their assigned precinct.
Georgia law requires voters to present an acceptable form of photo identification when voting in person.
The Walker County Elections Office is encouraging residents to take advantage of early voting opportunities rather than waiting until Election Day.
Voters seeking additional information about polling locations, registration status, or sample ballots can visit the Georgia Secretary of State’s My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.
