Schools are back in session and operating on a normal schedule today. Will see temperatures get above freezing for today. You can expect a high in the lower 40’s today. Mid-40’s on Saturday. We should see temps in the 50’s next week. Overnight lows still near freezing or lower.
The boil water advisory remains in effect. Crews made progress yesterday on the installation of the DAF system at the Lee School Road Water Treatment Plan. The area for the holding tank was level and the take is in place. The 46 foot long, 22-thousand gallons take will be part of the filtration system. The tank was delivered on Tuesday. Crews have started work on the plumbing installation. Some of the smaller plumbing has been completed. The larger plumbing work is expected to start today as temperatures warm.
Walker County has brought in more sand/salt mixture for winter weather. Two loads of 50 tons of the mix were delivered yesterday.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying a man wanted for questioning. The man has made several stops at residences in the Chattanooga Valley area over the weekend asking for food and water. The sheriff’s office wants to talk to him in relation to several reports of criminal trespassing and burglary. LaFayette Basketball is back in action tonight. After having a few games postponed due to the recent weather. The Ramblers and Lady Ramblers are back on the court tonight. It’s a road trip to CSAS to face the Patriots. Varsity girls tip off at 6pm. Boys play at 7:30pm.
