A former lieutenant with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office has pleaded guilty to stealing tens of thousands of dollars in citation payments. According to the Lookout Mountain District Attorney’s Office, Amy Kathleen Bradley admitted to pocketing cash payments meant for citation fines while working at the Walker County Jail. The investigation began back in June of 2021, after suspicions were raised about missing funds. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation assigned Special Agent Daniel Nicholson to the case, who uncovered that Bradley had been misappropriating money between 2018 and 2022. Authorities say she later confessed during an interview with Agent Nicholson. As part of a plea deal, Bradley was sentenced to 20 years — with the first 4 to be served behind bars. She’s also been ordered to pay over $70,000 in restitution to the county.
