The Catoosa County firefighters that have been in Kentucky have returned home. The crew spent 9 days in Kentucky assisting in rescue efforts there after the flooding.

The price of a stamp could be going up. The US Postal Service filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission last week. It includes a five-cent cost increase in the price of a first-class forever stamp. The price would go from 73-to-78-cents. If approved the new prices would go into effect July 13th.

A local nonprofit in Walker County is turning heartbreak into hope — for both people and pets. Perry’s Promise held a special pet food donation drive this weekend named the “Chuck Wagon.” The event was in the memory of fallen Chickamauga Police Officer Chuck Dunn, who tragically lost his life in a murder-suicide involving four people in March. Organizers say close to 3,000 pounds of pet food was distributed. And it didn’t stop there. Toys, leashes, collars, and other pet essentials were also given away.
