CHI Memorial broke ground on a new hospital in Ringgold Friday. When it opens the new hospital will have 64 inpatient beds, five operating rooms, a full-service emergency room and much more.
A Chattooga County High School student brought a gun to school on Friday. The school received information that the student had the firearm in their book bag. Within five minutes of receiving the report, the school administration and school resource officer had both the weapon and the student in custody. There was no immediate danger to staff or students.
The latest restaurant inspection report shows good scores for Walker County restaurants. The Great Wall in Chickamauga scored a 90. The Crushed Tomato in LaFayette received a 91. Clara’s Place on South Main in LaFayette received a 100.
The Walker County Historic Preservation Commission is meeting today. It happens at 6 at the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library. The public is invited to attend.
